Every Microsoft Customer Should Know This

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

This groklaw article is a little horrifying. It lays out Microsoft’s evangelism strategy from an exhibit in the Comes v. Microsoft litigation.

I always suspected Microsoft was operating underhandedly. This is flatly disgusting. There have been accusations flying around for years that Microsoft has been buying praise from journalists and “independent analysts”. This collection of 1997-vintage documents shows evidence that such practices have been in Microsoft’s toolbox for over a decade.

Microsoft should be abandoned. That’s all there is to it.

Autustic Child in Church… NOT!

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

So, the Catholic Church is not so welcoming after all. I can’t say I’m especially surprised by this.

A Catholic Church in Minnesota has petitioned local courts for a restraining order against Adam Race (irony upon irony), a 13-year-old autistic boy. After all, he’s disruptive, he’s peed on the floor, and knocked people over.

Now… Isn’t Adam’s autism god’s doing? Isn’t Adam god’s child like everyone else? Isn’t Adam deserving of an opportunity to share in god’s love?

Now, if you didn’t already know, I’m an atheist. I think it’s telling that the pope-mobile is bullet-proofed. The pope’s just a guy in a hospital gown and a funny hat. The church is little more than an ancient cult-of-personality, “self-help” empire. Think Tony Robbins

Maybe I’m misunderstanding the whole idea of Christianity… I thought “love thy neighbor as they self” and caring for the sick and less fortunate were big ideals… I though “everyone” was welcome in the church. So what happens to poor Adam Race? Does he get to go to hell because he can’t go to church… because the church threw him out?

So, what? Does the church keep a sign near the entrance, saying, “We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone”?

I dunno… I mean, I pretty-much always thought religion was a crock, but I have a great deal of difficulty understanding how the parishoners of the Church of St. Joseph can’t see this as anything but hypocrisy.

*sigh*.. People!
